The 2026 edition, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, saw India beat New Zealand by 96 runs in the final at Ahmedabad on 8 March 2026 to retain the trophy for a record third title; the tournament next heads to Australia and New Zealand in October–November 2028 — New Zealand's first time hosting — before England, Ireland and Scotland host in 2030.
